Welcome to the City of Prescott Penn Avenue/Eastwood Drive Improvements Project eNews. The City of Prescott and their contractor, Fann Contracting, are now working on Phase 2 of the Penn Avenue/Eastwood Drive Improvements Project. Phase 2 of the project consists of water, sewer and storm drainage improvements along Eastwood Drive, as shown in the map below. Additional improvements include the construction of a new Regional Stormwater Detention Basin, as well as new curb, gutter, asphalt pavement and trailhead improvements along the project corridor. Construction of improvements within Phase 2 are scheduled to be complete in spring 2024.

NEW CONCRETE INSTALLATION COMPLETE

 

Crews have finished installing all of the new sections of concrete curbs, gutters and driveway entrances throughout the project extents. 

ROADWAY PREPARATION NEARS COMPLETION, ASPHALT PAVING OPERATIONS TO BEGIN LATER IN THE WEEK

 

Crews will continue placing aggregate base material and preparing the subgrade throughout the project corridor. Following roadway preparation, crews will be performing asphalt paving operations along Eastwood Drive, including cul-de-sacs, Wednesday, April 24 through Friday, April 26.

 

Please be aware of the following impacts:

 

Monday, April 22 through Friday, April 26, 7 a.m. – 6 p.m.

Eastwood Drive will be closed to through traffic between Hillcrest Drive and Devereaux Drive. Please be aware of reduced speeds, loud noise and flagging operations throughout the work zones. Crews will work to ensure access to properties. Temporary restrictions will occur during asphalt paving operations on your roadway. In case of an emergency, please notify construction personnel and they will accommodate access. This work is highly weather dependent and subject to change. To minimize conflicts with construction equipment, and expedite completion of the project, the City asks that you avoid on-street parking while construction operations are underway. Residents are advised to find alternative parking outside of the project work zone prior to work commencing, should you need to leave.

MISCELLANEOUS EARTHWORK ONGOING IN REGIONAL STORMWATER DETENTION BASIN

 

Crews will continue performing miscellaneous earthwork within the new Regional Stormwater Detention Basin as weather permits.


Please be aware of the following impacts:

 

Monday, April 22 through Friday, April 26, 7 a.m. – 6 p.m.

Pedestrians are asked not to enter the site of the new Regional Stormwater Detention Basin. Please be aware of loud noise and heavy equipment accessing the site. 

WATER UTILITY AND STORM DRAIN IMPROVEMENTS TO CONTINUE

 

Crews will continue performing miscellaneous utility adjustments and constructing storm drain system improvements along the project corridor.

 

Please be aware of the following impacts:

NO ON-STREET PARKING

 

To avoid conflicts with construction equipment and expedite completion of the project, the City asks that you avoid on-street parking while road construction is underway. Personnel will work with residents to maintain driveway access throughout the work zones.
