PENN AVENUE/EASTWOOD DRIVE IMPROVEMENTS PROJECT SUBSTANTIALLY COMPLETE
The City of Prescott and their contractor, Fann Contracting, have reached substantial completion of Phase 2 of the Penn Avenue/Eastwood Drive Improvements Project. With that, the entire project is finished. The project included water, sewer and storm drainage improvements along Penn Avenue and Eastwood Drive, from Gurley Street to Devereaux Drive, including side streets and cul-de-sacs (as shown in the map below). Additional improvements consisted of new concrete curbs, gutters, driveway entrances, asphalt pavement, trailhead improvements and the construction of a new Regional Stormwater Detention Basin and drainage outfall channel.
This new regional detention basin was constructed to capture stormwater flows and relieve the runoff impact to downstream properties. Additionally, this project has upgraded the existing utility infrastructure for the local community and improved the road quality for motorists.
The City of Prescott is collaborating with multiple community partners to ecologically restore and beautify the basin bottom of the new Regional Detention Basin that was installed for this project. The City of Prescott hopes to see the new Regional Detention Basin flourish as an ecological and community asset to the neighborhood. For questions and further discussion related to these restoration efforts, contact the City directly at 928-777-1130, Ext: 5027 or email elise.anderson@prescott-az.gov.
The City is proud to bring improvements such as this to the Prescott community and appreciates your support as our crews have worked to complete this project.
