Welcome to the City of Prescott's Prescott Lakes Parkway and Sundog Ranch Road Intersection Improvements Project eNews. The City of Prescott and their contractor, Asphalt Paving & Supply, are currently working on a new project to improve the safety of the Prescott Lake Parkway and Sundog Ranch Road intersection. The project includes reconstructing and signalizing the intersection to improve safety and traffic flow. In addition to new traffic signals, this project includes turn lane additions, new sidewalks and ramps at three corners of the intersection, new traffic markings and the reconstruction of asphalt pavement.

 

Completion of this project is scheduled for spring 2024. This project is being undertaken to safely accommodate traffic on Prescott Lakes Parkway, pedestrian access and the large vehicles that regularly access the City’s facilities. 

CONCRETE INSTALLATION COMPLETE, ASPHALT PAVING OPERATIONS TO BEGIN

 

Crews have finished installing new concrete curb, gutter and sidewalk throughout the project corridor. Additionally, crews have finished roadway excavation and the removal of the existing asphalt pavement along Prescott Lakes Parkway and Sundog Ranch Road. With this work complete, crews will be performing asphalt paving operations throughout the project extents.

 

Please be aware of the following impacts:

 

Monday, April 29 through Friday, May 3, 7 a.m. – 6 p.m.

At least one lane of traffic will be maintained in each direction along Prescott Lakes Parkway, near the intersection of Sundog Ranch Road. To access the portion of Sundog Ranch Road that is east of Prescott Lakes Parkway, motorists are asked to use the roundabout, as the southbound left turn lane along Prescott Lakes Parkway will be closed. Access to the portion of Sundog Ranch Road that is west of Prescott Lakes Parkway will be closed to all traffic. Motorists are asked to follow the marked signage to get to their destination. Please be aware of lane closures and restrictions, rough road conditions, reduced speeds, loud noise and flagging operations throughout the work zone. Access to the Peavine Trail and the City’s Transfer Station and facilities will remain open at all times throughout construction. Motorists are asked to remain alert and please drive safely when traveling through the project area.

ELECTRICAL WORK TO CONTINUE


Crews will continue performing electrical work in advance of new traffic signal system installation.
